BOULDER, CO / LONDON, UK — Nov. 13, 2025 — Perennial, the global leader in full-service measurement, monitoring, reporting and verification (MMRV), and Valor Carbon, a carbon project developer, today announced a strategic partnership to accelerate high-integrity soil carbon projects globally, beginning with projects in Central Asia.
The partnership combines Perennial’s scalable, cost-efficient, registry-aligned MMRV with Valor Carbon’s project design, brokering, and regional network — enabling project developers to access the funding, measurement, and verification infrastructure needed to expand regenerative agriculture and grazing projects in new regions.
The first projects supported under this partnership include:
- The Kazakhstan Grasslands Restoration Project, led by project developer rTek, which will restore more than 500,000 hectares of degraded rangelands under Verra’s VM0032 methodology.
- The Asyl Farms Regenerative Agriculture Project, developed by Valor Carbon, which aims to transition 100,000 hectares of cropland toward regenerative practices under Verra’s VM0042 methodology. The project is supported under the Small Grants and Climate Innovation Facility (SGCIF) funded by UK International Development within the framework of the regional programme “Climate risk management in Central Asia”, implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Government.
Both projects will leverage Perennial’s MMRV to apply VT0014, Verra’s new digital soil mapping tool for soil organic carbon quantification. As the lead developer of VT0014, Perennial has a unique understanding of its technical requirements and how to apply it across Verra methodologies, ensuring rigorous, standardized measurement for both rangeland and cropland systems.
“Valor Carbon fills a critical gap in the carbon market,” said Jack Roswell, Co-Founder & CEO of Perennial. “Project finance is the number one blocker for scaling regenerative agriculture and grazing projects. By combining our end-to-end MMRV with Valor’s ability to unlock financing and offtake pathways, we’re making it possible for project developers to focus on what matters — supporting farmers and ranchers to restore their land.”
“At Valor Carbon, we’re committed to designing and scaling high-integrity projects that work for both people and the planet,” said Rocco Huesch, Co-Founder and CEO of Valor Carbon. “Partnering with Perennial allows us to bring best-in-class MMRV to the projects we develop or broker anywhere — delivering precise, registry-ready measurements without overburdening ranchers and farmers with excessive sampling.”
